All products from UBT are based on the use of its own Superfine CBF. UBT/CBT is producing the thinnest continuous basalt fiber in the world (57 microns).
The end-use products made of superfine CBF have objectively much better physical and mechanical characteristics than products made of ordinary CBF. At the same time, they retain all the rest of their unique properties, including extraordinary chemical stability and long service life.
This allows such CBF products to meet more stringent requirements for their application, replacing conventional composite materials or combining them effectively.

CBF roving is a finely crafted bundle of straight, aligned CBF monofilaments wound onto specialized spools for smooth unwinding. Our roving comes in a Tex range of 22 to 150, with the option to manufacture larger sizes upon customer request.
At UBT, our CBF roving is produced using a proprietary process that enriches basalt-andesitic lava minerals, combined with advanced manufacturing expertise. Depending on your specific needs, we offer roving in two monofilament diameters: thin (7-9 µm) and super-thin (5-7 µm).
UBT’s CBF roving is the thinnest available in the market, enabling the creation of strong, ultra-lightweight basalt products with superior physical and mechanical performance. These composites also exhibit excellent chemical resistance and long-lasting durability.
Our CBF roving is well-suited for a variety of applications, including weaving, braiding, high-speed knitting, filament winding, unidirectional impregnation, pultrusion, and chopping. It performs exceptionally in applications that require high mechanical strength, thorough resin wet-out, and compatibility with diverse organic matrices, including thermoset resins such as epoxy, polyester, and vinyl ester, as well as many thermoplastics.

UBT’s CBF fabric is a lightweight, high-performance textile engineered for strength and durability. It exhibits high tensile strength, outstanding resistance to chemicals and flames, with thermal conductivity ranging between 0.030 and 0.037 W/m·K.
These multifunctional fabrics serve as structural reinforcements, electrical insulators, and versatile materials in various industries. Their unique double-faced weave provides low air and vapor permeability, minimal moisture absorption (<1%), and the lowest capillary action, ensuring long-lasting performance.
CBF fabrics are non-flammable and maintain integrity at temperatures up to 990°C. They offer excellent adhesion to coatings, vibration resistance, and chemical resistance against acids and alkalis. Made from natural mineral fibers, they are environmentally safe and free from harmful substances.
Compatible with epoxy, polyester, vinyl ester, and a variety of thermoplastic resins, CBF fabric is ideal for reinforcing surfaces and producing high-strength composite panels and complex-shaped end products. Custom fabric options with diverse densities and weights are available to meet specific application requirements.

UBT’s CBF tapes are lightweight woven tapes that share the superior properties of our CBF fabrics. Available in widths ranging from 25 to 100 mm, we also offer custom sizes, densities, and weights to meet specific customer requirements.
CBF tapes are frequently used in conjunction with CBF fabrics or pure CBF fibers, depending on the complexity of the finished product. They are especially popular for winding applications to enhance thermal and electrical insulation, as well as vibration resistance.
Like our CBF fabrics, these tapes are fully compatible with a wide range of resins, including epoxy, polyester, and other matrix systems, making them ideal for diverse composite manufacturing needs.

UBT’s chopped CBF is a highly effective reinforcing material that enhances the strength, durability, and resistance to wear and tear of a wide variety of matrices, including resins, plastics, concrete, and asphalt. Incorporating chopped CBF reduces thermal conductivity and improves the material’s resistance to harsh chemical environments.
Our chopped CBF consists of segments of continuous basalt fiber with monofilament diameters ranging from 3 to 9 microns, cut to lengths between 5 and 50 mm. This versatile form is used to manufacture plates, panels, needle-punched mats, substrates, filters, and more.
Chopped CBF is widely employed in advanced industries such as aerospace, automotive, and marine. It is compatible with wet and dry fiber laying processes and compounding techniques. Suitable manufacturing methods include resin transfer molding, direct injection molding, and spray-up.
Components reinforced with chopped CBF exhibit exceptional strength, excellent dimensional stability, and outstanding chemical resistance to acids and alkalis, making it ideal for demanding, high-performance applications.
